Watch the Birdie

The vintage Paper Moon Photo Booth. Picture perfect portrait prints in minutes. Recreating the magical Luna Parks photo booths of the early 20th Century, complete with an old fashioned Photographer, a 1908 Large Format Camera, and a magical alchemical dark room. How will your picture turn out?

Installation duration: 4 hours in 2 x 2 hour blocks. Approximately 20 photos per hour with up to 12 people in each photo, additional prints on request and time-dependent. Watch the Birdie! is performed to also entertain onlookers.

Watch the Birdie! has been touring since 2011 and was originally based on Buster Keaton’s film The Cameraman, in particular combining silent clown technique and the early part of the film where he is a portrait photographer taking pictures for people in the street. If you haven’t seen it – its well worth the watch.
